Detectives Investigating Smithville Homicide - UPDATE 1

Niagara Regional Police Homicide Unit detectives are actively investigating this incident to identify the suspect responsible for this murder and are continuing to speak to people in the community as they investigate the death of a 62-year-old female who was found inside the home.

At this time, no arrests have been made.  This is not believed to be a random act of violence.

Public Release – Criminal Impaired Driving Offences – April 22nd to April 28th, 2024

In an effort to bring further attention and deterrence to driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, the Niagara Regional Police Service will be reporting the names of those people who are charged with an alleged criminal impaired driving offence in the Region.

Toronto Male Arrested in St. Catharines with Loaded Firearm and Drugs

On April 30, 2024, at approximately 12:45pm, 1 District (St. Catharines / Thorold) Street Crime detectives from the Niagara Regional Police Service were in the area of Gale Crescent and Riordon Street in the City of St. Catharines conducting an investigation. Drug Investigation Leads to $15,000 seizure – St. Catharines

During the month of April 2024, Detectives from the 1 District Street Crime Unit (St.Catharines / Thorold) of the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) investigated drugs being sold out of a residence and suspect vehicle throughout the City of St. Catharines.
