The Investigative Support Services provides the foremost in qualified specialists in the investigative
field. Investigators support the Field Services Division in
solving of crimes, the recognition of crime trends, and the reduction of
criminal activities.
Specialized training initiatives are implemented
to ensure the recommendations of The Campbell Commission Report are met.
Investigators in the Investigative Support Services are trained in the Major
Case Management Standards and conduct all investigations in compliance
with the Standard.
Investigative Support Services
provide training
opportunities for Field Service members, which enhance mutual trust and
elevate skill levels in investigative endeavours throughout the
organization. The Investigative Support Services strives to document
and develop the skills of police service members in order that they may
be considered for replacement of investigators in specialized positions.
Opportunities within Investigative Support are created
periodically by reviewing positions and ensuring appropriate and timely
rotation of members.
Investigative Support personnel regularly meet with
the District Superintendent and Inspector to develop strategies for
shared resources in specialized areas, review all outstanding major
investigations and promote the development of the organization’s goals
and objectives.
